Access from Hurket is snowmobile only. A large ice ridge has formed.

 

Gary does have a couple of day huts available for rent. Gary is not providing rides out to the huts this year.

Hi;

 

Anyone have any first hand knowledge of ice thickness at Granite, and if you can sled out there from Hurkett?

 

I’d like to take my youngest out for a ride and some perch.

I took my sled out from Hurkett docks last week. There was no marked trail at the time but you could follow other sled tracks to a safe crossing at the ice ridge. Once you're across the ridge you can see the shacks and just head in that general direction. I was fishing between the island and Granite, didn't measure the ice but there was at least 16"

Can anyone say if there’s still enough snow for a sled ride out to Granite?
