The best way to keep deer out of the garden is 180 grains of 30-06 or a broadhead (does not scare the neighbours, as they cant hear it). Good luck Bear
Guest TerryK Report post Posted April 11, 2008 to keep out the dear wife, or the four legged deer? I would just keep the gate closed. JK Arvey Better be a tall gate George! I've seen deer jump a 6 foot fence from a standing start. Straight up, straight down. Methinks the hair guy has more than a deer problem!

Guest Thrasher Report post Posted April 12, 2008 I too have tried just about everything possible, sprays, home made recipes, hair (human and dog) (my dog had the best kept coat going! lol) The only thing that has worked for me is Skoot. It's a liquid that is intended to keep animals away from your garden, doesn't hurt pets, but works very well against deer and rabbits. Buy the tub of it, (about $15 for 500ml) mix it about 60 skoot/40water, put in a spray bottle, and spray it around the garden. You may need to re-apply every 1 1/2 to 2 months. Rain doesn't seem to affect it's effectiveness, but amounts of rain do affect how often you need to re-apply. Thrasher
Guest canuck Report post Posted April 12, 2008 Music only works for so long and the deer become used to it....same thing happened to a friend on Nicolets Rd. The deer ignore the music and eat the garden...trees and flowers.....now she has me from Sept. 1st. till Dec. 15. One less deer to worry about now....
