Jayfishin 63 Report post Posted October 28, 2008 This topic may be more directed at the OPP but .... Just wanted to clarify what the rules are for spending the night in an ice shack on a lake in Ontario and having an alcoholic beverage? It is my understanding that when you are camping on crown land in the summer time your camp site becomes your temporary residence, and therefore allowes you to consume alcohol on it? I know this holds true when you camp at a provincial park in Ontario. Why does it become illegal if you are camping on frozen water in an ice shack?
