Guest Kevin Green Report post Posted November 22, 2008 Kevin were you hunting? No I was working but I did travel down the Burchell Lake Rd to the very end past Squeers then took a right and followed that all the way around and out the Swamp Road. I beleive it was 80km's. I saw one fox and one Hunter on a quad from Elginburg, ON who was from a hunting party of 5 guys camped out on Tilly Lake Rd. They hadn't got a moose in the past week and the birds are non existent up there now with the snow that fell.
Bottom Bouncer 22 Report post Posted November 22, 2008 Thanks Kevin I was just wondering if the Moose were moving, went on Fri. and the bush was pretty quiet. The couple of lakes I saw were solid as a rock. I'm guessing Whitefish will have 4-5 inches. Quote REELBAIT

sinker7 114 Report post Posted November 24, 2008 On Saturday I was out to Shebandowan - middle Shebandowan at Young Bay still had open water but upper was completly frozen. It froze over Wednesday night according to our neighbour. I walked out about a hundred feet and the ice went from 4" by shore to 2" were I drilled the last hole. On Sunday I travelled to a speck lake west of the city and there was 3.5" of ice. Fished until noon and picked up one decent trout. Looking forward to next weekend!!! Guest Nick C Report post Posted November 24, 2008 I won't feel safe for another 4 weeks yet... I know, When the L.U students start skating on Tamblyn, I will go out with a hand auger and drill a hole right in the center and fish for some rainbows. They can skate around me Nick C
Guest BannedCore Report post Posted November 24, 2008 I have deleted my post as the grammer error has been corrected. Anybody that goes out on the ice should exercise exteme caution at this time of the year and always have a buddy with rope or pics.
