As you noted, the walleye open season in Fisheries Management Zone 6 closes at 11:59 pm on April 14. This would include Lac des Mille Lacs, the Savanne River and Little Savanne River.

In addition, certain portions of the Savanne and Little Savanne Rivers (being part of Lac Des Milles Lacs) are sanctuaries (no fishing at all) from April 1st to May 31 in every year. The sanctuaries have been in place for at least 15 years and are necessary to protect the lakes’ spawning pickerel populations. You will find this information on pg. 32 of the Recreational Fishing Regulation Summary available at most sporting goods stores.

Here is the actual wording in the Ontario Fishery Regulations 1989 Schedule 3 that describe the sanctuaries.

The waters of that part of the Savanne River between its confluence with One Mile Creek and its confluence with Dexter Creek. Closed to all fishing April 1 to May 31

The waters of that part of the Little Savanne River between the C.P.R. right-of-way and the first C.N.R. right-of-way. Closed to all fishing April 1 to May 31

Map #3 of the Crimestopper Explorer Series also shows the location of the sanctuaries.
