Thanks Cory.

Again, I note the significant dispairity amongst the top teams. I was surprised that some were hyping the entry of the Izumi's....middle of the pack and less than 10lbs. total for the two days. That's about what I would've hypothesize. Too much time in the BoQ!

Walleye tournaments usually have a group away out front...the group that get "overs" each day.

As for the Izumis I doubt they had much time to fish and would you really want to win an event you are getting paid to promote? Bad karma...

I must be the "some" you speak of hyping the Izumis but don't get why you're suprised. As a board member for the NOPWT I am actively involved in helping each tournament grow & prosper. The 40+ increase in teams must be attributed in part to Bob & Waynes involvement in the event.

Oh I'm sure their involvement had a huge effect on increased turnout. I was moreso suggesting the fact they don't fish the area often, and presumably had little time to prefish, would likely offset any expected advantages from having so much tournament experience behind them. So when a buddy mentioned their attendance to me a few weeks ago, I made an off-the-cuff remark that "I suspect they'll be middle-of-the-pack", citing the same reasons at the time.....and that's pretty much where they were.

Maybe a little nevous of plowing into a shoal with a 300 Merc behind you too!

Mattagami is a big lake and tough to figure out in a couple days...or years
