Stuck swival seats

Recommended Posts

Barrski

I have been having problems moving my seat posts from one location to another. I was wondering what would work to keep them free from sezing.

I was thinking of using a light grease or silicone spray.

The seat posts are swival eeze

Any Ideas?

Had the same problem with my Lund seats a few years ago, nearly took my back out trying to get the bow seat loose. To solve this problem I took some fine grit sand paper and sanded the seat base (post hole) out a fraction, then added some WD40 and this took care of it.

Hope this helps, Don

I spray the posts and the base with a little pledge. I also use a quick grip clamp to push the tit in while I pull the seat post out of the base. Much much easier.

i had the same problem,i had to take the base off the floor and knock the seat out with a rubber hammer.I then used a dremmel tool to reem out the base hole alittle and now no problem.

Yes....the seats have vapor lock.....heat and moisture causes them to get stuck.

I've done the WD40 trick as well, and a good power tool on the pedestal for some vibration should loosen it up.
