Walleye's with Eggs in August>?????

I walleye fish alot and havent seen this before.

Went fishing with my son on MAGICAL Lake Ontario caught some amazing fish we kept 4 to bring home.

When I went to clean them 2 of the 4 Had Eggs in them..... Mid August????

Anyone see or hear of this before? Anyone have any information on it?

Egg development for most spring and early-summer spawners such as walleye and smallmouth bass begins in late summer to early fall, so observing developing eggs in females at this time of year is normal. Egg production in fish is a lengthy process which requires considerable energy from the fish.
