Handi-Rifle

I'm thinking that in the spring I'll pick up an H&R Handi-Rifle in 45/70, maybe even the 'Handi-Grip' style.

Has anyone here used these rifles? How did you like them?

unbedable

That's what I was shooting last year and probably this year. Its short and easy to take in the truck and manuvre in the bush, but a little on the heavy side. The solid pipe though reduces alot of kick. I dont' really feel my 30/06. Its pretty solid so the scope I have on doesn't budge and its shoots pretty straight for me and my ability.

One of the downfalls I dont' like is it only has an extractor and not ejector, so therefore if you have gloves on or whatnot it may be hard to take the casing out for a follow up shot. Just don't miss ;)

Hope this helps.

Thanks that helps a lot.

Did you get the standard wood stock or the Handi-Grip?

Where did you pick yours up? I've got lots of time to track one down, but it's good to know where to look.

I wonder if the extractors can be replaced/switched with ejectors like you can with some shotguns, or maybe they can be adjusted.
