When is your favorite time of the year to hunt?

Although hunting season officially closes Wednesday, today is my last day. Got the day off heading out with some friends to find a Bull. -36 with the windchill. I have to say although winter hunting is challenging with the cold, it is one of my favourite times to hunt.

When is your favorite time of the year to hunt?

Not just a 3 month season but a 12 month obsession!!!

Well I archery hunt moose so I love late september, frosty mornings and comfortable afternoons. Gotta love the sound of a bull grunting as he comes into the call. Although I was born and raised a gun hunter and I usually pursue deer with my rifle and tracking with snow on the ground is one of my favourite things to do. So I guess its a toss up for me. LOL heck I love it at any time of the season. Goodluck, hope you get your bull.

Late September for the moose hunt is always a good time to be in the bush. Not too cold and lots of hunting hours.

My favorite animal is a feral pig, it is more difficult to hunt, then a deer or Osceola. Although most people will not agree, they are. My favorite caliber rifle is a magazine muzzel 50 caliber 12 caliber rifle or a bow stalker India.

I have always preferred the morning hunt but this year 90% of the deer we have seen have been after 10 am. My sone killed a doe this past saturday at 11:40am. So who knows....as long as I get to go.
