Guest Didgeridoo Report post Posted April 17, 2007 Hey, I'm going to be coming to Thunderbay in a couple weeks and was wanting to do some fishing for steelhead. I've never done this before and so I'm just wondering if someone could give me some pointers. I have a 9wt fly rod and my g/f, who'll be with me, will have spinning gear. I'll have about two weeks in Tbay so I am hoping to hit the run. Just wondering what flies we should tie and what other baits typically produce. I've read about fishing for steelhead but not for the Tbay area. All input is welcome and feel free to PM me. Cheers, Nick

Cheers, Nick I'm not up on steelhead flies other than yarn flies but as far as baits and lures go just use the usual suspects. Spinners ( I like Mepps and Pather Martin), small spoons, and even bucktail jigs in deeper water. Spawn bags, worms and waxworms are deadly as well. Keep checking the other posts on this site for updates and such. Good luck!
