Hey all! I know it’s early to be talking about camping but I’m looking for some advice. I’m trying to plan a camping trip with me and my wife on nipigon in late June. I’m looking to do some fishing for trout wondering if I would have better luck fishing above pine portage dam or below. We will be sleeping in a tent is there any spots around suitable? Thanks guys I really appreciate it!!

Evening all! Im looking for some help, last year I tried fishing the nipigon river off shore for salmon, it was mid - late fall with no luck. Tackle used was - Rapala J13's. No bait used They were biting as other people had caught a few before I got there. I want to head up soon and try again, i know to stick with the j13's tigers, I'm hoping someone can give me some info on for these questions. -Best time to be out there? AM ? PM ? -Are they running/ best week to get out there ? -Bait ? Egg Sacks? Type? -Any other areas around Nipigon other then the Alexander Dam boat launch area? Thank you !

Does anyone know the status of Onaman River Resort? I have stayed there many years for Speck fishing. I recently called owner Rob Lindsey and was told the phone number is no longer in service. I tried emailing and no reply. Did he go out of business? Someone else buy them out? Appreciate any news anyone has on Rob or his business.Thanks.

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone knows how thick the ice is on Lake Nipigon either out of Poplar Lodge or South Bay. Hoping to get out this weekend. Cheers

Making plans with a friend to fish Nipigon and in particular, the Jackfish River. The idea was to access Ombabika Bay via the Ombabika River launch. From there, it’s about 25k or so to the mouth of the Jackfish. Probably will camp out there for a night as well. Wondering if anyone can please share any knowledge of what the road is like to get there....road 801, Auden road, Ombabika River road and the launch itself? It looks like a long haul and any advice is welcome. And besides its size and potential for rough waters, are there any other hazards out on Ombabika to consider?
